Even MORE on the Core

September 27, 2010

As mentioned in a couple recent posts, we’re big on “tight core” work, rather than endless crunches, here at Efficient Exercise. That’s not to say I don’t use crunches, especially to get clients used to controlling these muscles, but crunches are never the only exercise. An exercise I really like is the farmer’s walk, mostly due to the metabolic fatigue it can impart, but now there’s a newly published study from Dr. Stuart McGill indicating how effective this exercise is in keeping the core very, very strong. Just another reason for all the ladies at Curves look at my clients strangely as they schlep weight across the parking lot…it gets results.

Load up those bags to about 50 lbs each, and you’ll have a core workout your friends will be envious of 🙂
